From a global perspective, the word ‘borders’ is meaningless today, especially in the EU. There are many possibilities that have made The world smaller than before: cheap flights, a wide variety of maps, guidance devices, translators and etc. Also you can have all of these in a device and carry that anywhere in your pocket. The concept of globalization has become hand-held. Thus traveling is more comfortable now.
However notion of immigration is completely different in my mind. Immigration is a new birth and beginning a new life, particularly if you can never go back to your country even for an hour. So you have to adapt to the host culture and society, otherwise you will find many issues and create problems in the new country.
I had to leave my country, Iran, in 2011 and I have lived in England as a refugee since that time. When I arrived to London, I had a serious problem making a connection with the society of England, which would become my new home.
My English skills was not good enough and I was from a different culture. So I could not find any friend and could not become involved in the society. I had a hard time and I was completely isolated and I saw London as a city of walls.
This project shows my feelings of that time.
